Brittany & Janssen!

MAIN PHOTO

...and we're back to weddings!
Brittany and Janssen have been an amazingly fun couple to work with! Not only did they have some awesome ideas on locations making their engagement shoot one of my favorites of all time, but Brittany was such a classic and lovely bride with amazing details to her gown that the bridal shoot was simply breathtaking! It always helps when a good looking couple like this are also incredibly nice, it makes my job easy!
Their culminating event happened to be my first shoot ever at the newly dedicated Draper, Utah LDS Temple. Not only did I get to shoot a fun couple and their families, but I got to do it in a new place, which always gives me a kick. Both families had members coming in from out of state for the big event, so the reception became a really sweet opportunity to document everyone coming together and loving the time spent as one huge family! The Northampton House made a beautiful backdrop to the reunion, and the toasts and memories made us all smile and even tear up.

Thanks for including me in your day!

Band Photography - The Skaficionados

Skaficionados

Skaficionados

While we're on the subject of bands and music...
Here is a local band called The Skaficionados, a killer name if you ask me. I went downtown and shot a set for them back in the spring.
You can check them out on MySpace here: http://www.myspace.com/theskaficionados

Utahpalooza 2009 -- Band Photography

MAIN PHOTO

On one of our few weekend days off this summer, Lori, Hannah, and I went up to Park City with my good friend Sina. I performed at Comedy Sportz Utah for several years with Sina. You Utahns may know him best as the creepy Cryptosporidian guy from the commercials or from the movie Church Ball. He lives in Los Angeles now pursuing acting and is involved in some exciting projects. He also does stand-up comedy and he thinks he's pretty funny. (To be fair, many agree.) He was in town for a 6-show headline run at Wiseguys in Trolley Square and we spent some quality time up in Park City at UtahPalooza 2009. It was a lot of fun. Sina intoduced some of the bands and did a bit of the voodoo he does so well.
The bands you see in the photos are The Skinny Ties and Mullet Hatchet. Both were a lot of fun. The Skinny Ties are an 80's cover band and Mullet Hatchet is a southern rock tribute band.

Brittnie - Bridals

MAIN PHOTO

After her engagement session was one of my favorites ever, I felt a lot of pressure to create some really classic bridals for Brittnie. While she did most of the work, I think they turned out awesome and I'll take some of the credit.

Brittnie & Alex -- Engagements

MAIN PHOTO

Brittnie and Alex. What to say? We went up to Tremonton, Utah and shot in Brittnie's back yard. I kept shooting close-ups because WOW, those are some eyes! We had a blast and things turned out wonderfully. I give them props for all the shots in the open field. They were dodging mosquitoes and cow pies the whole time. I love these images. This is one of my favorite engagement sessions EVER.

Video of Photography -- Who knew it could be so fun?

I just got the video of John and Maree's engagement session out on the salt flats and I love it! The videographer is Aub Marie productions. She was fun to work with and you can see that the final result is awesome! I have quickly become a big fan. I like how she integrated the photos within the context of the video to tell the whole story of what was a crazy, fun, wind-swept shoot.
The back of my head makes an appearance or two...I desperately needed a haircut.

Brittany - Bridals

Brittany - Bridals

I don't really have to say much about these. They just rock. I'll give you the recipe: One beautiful bride, a diverse and interesting location, and one excited, slightly nerdy photographer.
We shot these at the Castle Park in Provo, Utah.
